The Women’s Table 2018 10th Anniversary Celebration

For the past ten years, The Women’s Table, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, has celebrated individuals for their commitment to the values and charism of the sisters. This year, State Representative Kevin Honan received the “Connecting Neighbor with Neighbor Award.” Kevin listens wholeheartedly to those who seek his help, and he utilizes his connections to help others. Mary Caruso, a facilitator and volunteer for The Women’s Table Writer’s Workshop received the “Compassionate Strength Award,” for creating an atmosphere where women feel comfortable sharing. Sharon Gouvia, was honored with the “Building Inclusive Community Award.” Sharon was a “founding member” of The Women’s Table Advisory Committee, and she brought a wide range of experience to the ministry. On May 17, 2017, The Women’s Table hosted its fourth annual event, “A Place at the Table.” A Congregation ministry of The Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, The Women’s Table provides advocacy, meaningful connections, and unique programs for women. The Women’s Table, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, hosted a day of relaxation, renewal and rest. “Peace Begins with Me,” was a day-long program of self-care including neck and shoulder massage, breathing and relaxation exercises, yoga for all experience levels, introduction to coloring for adults and Zentangle, and the opportunity to “just be” for a day! The Women’s Table hosted a day-long program entitled “Peace Begins with Me” for mothers and caregivers on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Penthouse.

 On May 20, 2015, approximately 150 sisters, friends, CSJ Associates, and
ministry partners came together to celebrate The Women’s Table. It was an evening to learn more about the ever-widening circles and reach of The Women’s Table. Critical to this work is connection and relationship of neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God that is at the heart of all ministries of the
Sisters of St. Joseph.
